Traditional Fare, Texas Flare
At the Sengelmann Hall Restaurant, we pride ourselves in offering multi-cultural cuisine, inspired by the history, culture and the music, which surrounds us. We combine Old World European recipes with innovative flavors and an unmistakable Texas taste.
Our recipes reflect the culinary heritage of Schulenburg's founding families, along with secret family recipes from the founder's wife, Hana Hillerova Harper, a native of Prague.
A few of our favorite German-Czech specialty dishes include homemade Topinka bread, Holubki (Slavic cabbage rolls pronounced haw-LOOB-kee) and our popular Breaded Chicken Schnitzel, served with garlic mashed potatoes.
Our beef is top grade Angus and our fresh seafood is literally shipped to us over night from the Pacific ocean. We feature salmon, albacore tuna, mahi mahi and red snapper throughout the year.
We love to put a Texas spin on our menu, which features local favorites: Shiner Beer Bread, Fried Pickles & Mushrooms and our famous Macaroni & Cheese with Truffle Oil.

And, don't forget about dessert!
Our baker prepares fresh-baked homemade pastries and desserts daily, so enjoy a slice after your meal or take home a special treat for the whole family! Authentic German, Czech and family recipes are the inspiration for our house-made rye bread, Velke Kolaches, and seasonal fresh fruit strudel.
